Color Journal No 7: Nature

"In so many ways, nature is grateful, rewarding and an endless source of inspiration for me. There are many reasons to be inspired by nature as it’s forever changing, and I always discover new colors and textures to work with. The main purpose with this trend is simply to bring the colors of nature inside and with our Scandinavian surroundings, this becomes quite easy. If you like to live and decorate with natural materials this is a good way to emphasize the value of the materials by painting with the colors that represents them. You can use this trend as a tone-in-tone for a simple and calming look or add a bright green or another burned color for a bolder look. This tendency might not have the most powerful expression in itself but by combining it in the right way, it will add so much personality and atmosphere to any space. Don’t be afraid to play with textures like matte and glossy surfaces. When going for matte paintings you’ll make it easier to turn this into a long-lasting look."
