Color Journal No 6: Burned Orange/yellow

“Because of modern technology, the world seems smaller than ever and it’s easier for us to get inspired by the south when it comes to interior. Often, I think we have a one-way view of what yellow or orange is but this palette emphasis just how varied the colors can be. Yellow tones can signal anything from cheap discount to extreme luxury and it can be anything from playful to deeply serious. This makes it an amazing color to explore and challenge and I love how implementing deep, burned and saturated colors can give such an exclusive and personalized look. I think a lot of people see yellow as a difficult color to work with, but in the right nuances it’s incredibly beautiful in interaction with many other colors. If you’re skeptical about bringing burned colors into your home, then remember that it’s possible to change a room completely by painting just one wall in a warm color. No matter the shade and amount, yellow will definitely spice up your life.”
